You may experience trouble with Instagram or Facebook posting in the following forms:
- Connecting your Instagram or Facebook pages to Planly
- Posts failing to be published at the scheduled time
- Constantly disconnecting or need to refresh your account
- Unable to view the latest insights such as analytics, inbox messages or post comments
If any of these sound similar to you we got you covered. In this post, we will explain you how to fix these issues. Since Instagram and Facebook have similar connection and posting requirements set by Meta, we will cover both of them in this guide.
Troubleshooting Facebook and Instagram page connection issues
How to check your admin settings?
In most of the time, these issues are due to some permissions missing while connecting your page to Planly.
The number one thing you need to make sure is that you have an admin access with Full Control. For this check the following steps:
- Log in to your Facebook page (not personal profile)
- Click the Professional Dashboard on the left menu
- Click the Page Access on the left menu
- Click your name. On the opening popup it should say "This person has a full control". If you have a partial control connect your page admin for the full access.
How to check admin settings on Meta Business Suite?
Once you made sure you have an admin access with full control, head over to Meta Business Suite Settings.
1. For Facebook pages, click Pages under the Accounts section and look for your name. Make sure that you have see Full control: Everything is toggled on.
2. For Instagram accounts, click Instagram accounts under the Account section and look for your name. Again, you need to have Full Control: Everything toggled on.
- One last thing, head over to People under the Users section and ensure you have Full Control: Everything next to your name.
How to check your permissions?
If all of these issues are not related to your admin access firsthand, then they are most probable due to some permissions missing out while connecting your pages to Planly. To successfully connect your pages to Planly, have your posts auto published on the scheduled time, view your insights, messages, and comments, it is required to grant all permissions to Planly.
- Now, to check permissions, head to your Facebook personal profile (not business page) that has Full Admin Access to Facebook page.
- Click down arrow on your profile and go to Settings & Privacy > Settings on the menu
- Go to Business Integrations under the Your Activity section on the left menu
- Look for Planly in the list and click View and Edit
5. Toggle on all of the permissions on the menu to grant access to Planly and click Save.
6. And the very last step is to re-connect your page to Planly. Whether you are trying to connect Instagram or Facebook, chose the platform from the menu on Planly and select the pages that you want to reconnect to Planly.
