As a veteran social media platform, Pinterest continues to be one of the most used social networks. Getting insights into what is working and what is not will help users to create better pins that match their audience taste.

General Requirements for Using Planly's Pinterest Analytics
- You need to have a Pinterest Business Account. If you have a personal account please follow this guide to switch your personal account to a Pinterest Business Account.
- Planly's Pinterest Analytics provides analytics data for the posts published via Planly and other publishing methods.
- The furtherest back the post and account metrics collected are 90 days.
- Insights will be stored for 2 years in Planly.
- Some metrics may not display due to the insufficient amount of audience or post count in your account.
- The video post metrics will display N\A for photo posts
Accessing Planly's Pinterest aAnalytics
From the side menu, click Analytics > Pinterest. Then, from the social channel dropdown, select the Pinterest page you want to see the results of. By default, it will select the Pinterest page you connected to the earliest.
Once you select the Pinterest channel, it is time to select the time range. On the right side of the screen, there is a calendar input. Click on the calendar to set the time range. To make things easier, we have a pre-made time batches on the left side menu. You can either select from there or set a custom time range. Click the Apply button to finish the time setting.
Next to calendar input, there is a download icon where you can download the whole social channel analytics including all tabs and grasp that belong to them.
Overview
The Overview gives general information about your Pinterest page and also specific data insights about the performance of your account.
At the top of the screen, you can see a snapshot of your account with these metrics:
- Monthly views
- Follower count
- Pin count
- Board count
- Impressions
- Pin clicks
Next to some insights, there are upward and downward arrows indicating follower growth in rise and fall rates, respectively.
Below the general section, there comes a graphic demonstration of key account metrics in the past 90 days:
- Impressions
- Outbound clicks
- Pin clicks
- Save rates
- Video views
You can see the explanation of each graph if you hover over the titles of grasp.
Top pins is the last section in the Overview tab. You can get quick insights into the top 5 pins based on their impressions.
Audience tab
The second tab in Planly's Pinterest analytics is the Audience tab. It provides your audience metrics based on demographics, location, and device types.
This section helps you better understand your audience, in terms of their age, gender, and online active hours. The type of graphics you can access include:
- Gender
- Age
- Country
- Devices
Pins tab
In the Pins tab, you can see an extensive view. The metrics include:
- Impressions
- Saves
- Pin clicks
- Outbound clicks
- Profile visits
- Average video view
Individual pins analytics pop up
On the Post table, if you hover over a post visual and click the eye icon (👁️), you will see the performance of each pin metric at the given time. While the table view gives the exact date as of the chosen time on the calendar the Individual pin analytics pop-up gives how each metric performed over the given time period.
