Planly's Pinterest Analytics provides an easy way to evaluate the impact of pins. To fully understand these metrics, you need to know what each metric means. This guide will walk you through each of Pinterest Analytics metrics. To make things digestible, I will go through tabs and related metrics that belong to them.
Overview tab metrics
The purpose of the Overview tab is to give a quick view into your Pinterest account and graphically explain how key metrics are growing over time.
Monthly views | The number of times your pins were viewed by people in the last 30 days. It includes pins from your account and pins others saved from your boards. |
Follower count | The number of people who follow your account or your boards. |
Pin count | The number of pins you shared on your boards |
Board count | The number of boards you have on your Pinterest account |
Impressions | The number of times your pins or ads were seen by people |
Pin Click | Total number of clicks on your pins |
Outbound clicks | The number of times people click on the link through the destination link off Pinterest |
Save rates | The total saves of your pins divided by the total number of times they were seen by people |
Video views |
The number of views for at least 2 second and with 50% of video in view |
First 10s |
The number of times your video was viewed for at least 10 seconds or more |
First 50s | The number of times your video was viewed to 50% of its length or more |
Top pins |
5 high-performing pins based on their impressions shared in the last 90 days |
Audience tab metrics
The Audience tab provides insights into the audience demographics, location, and device types. You can use these metrics to prepare pins that match your audience's habits.
Age | Age distribution of your audience except users under 18 |
Gender | Gender distribution of your audience who chose to share their gender |
Country | Top countries of your audience |
Device | The devices used by your audience. This includes all devices that a single user use to access Pinterest |
Pins tab metrics
The Pins tab provides the performance of each post metric. Individual pins analytics pop-up shares the same metrics as the Pins tab. The only difference is on the Pins tab you can see the metrics as of now, whilst in the individual pins analytics, you can view the growth pattern of metrics given on the Pins tab.
Impressions | Total times a pin was seen by people |
Saves | Total times people saved a pin to their boards |
Pin clicks | Total clicks on a pin |
Outbound clicks | Total times people clicked from a pin to a destination off Pinterest |
Profile visits | Total times people visited your account after seeing a pin |
Average video views | The average time your video was seen |
