Social Channels

Social media profiles or business pages you connect to your Planly account. You can add, remove, or switch social channels within Teams.

Post

A piece of media (photo, video, or GIF) that is scheduled for one or more social channels.

Teams

Groups that help you manage your social channels and the users you add. Each Team has its own Media Library, ensuring media is not shared across Teams unless explicitly added.

Planly Extension

A browser extension that simplifies connecting social channels to Planly. This method is recommended for its ease of use. Alternatively, you can connect via email, though this requires using the email associated with your social channel.

User

Anyone with access to a Team. Users can upload media, schedule posts, and edit content. Only account owners can add users to Teams, based on the subscription plan.

Account Owner

The primary account holder with access to Billing and account settings. Account owners can add/remove users and social channels.

Media Library

A digital storage space for organizing and managing media files. You can upload files from your desktop or import them from Google Drive. Features like filters, notes, labels, and stars make it easy to organize and search for media. Each Team has its own Media Library.

Media

Photos, videos, and GIFs you upload and schedule for social platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

Labels

Tags or keywords added to media files for better organization and searchability. You can assign multiple labels to a single media file.

Media Notes

Messages attached to individual media files, allowing you to add, edit, copy, or paste notes for better organization.

Description

A caption or message added to a post while scheduling. Descriptions can be edited up until the post is published.

Filter

A tool to refine searches by specific criteria, such as labels, status, or user-uploaded media.

Stars

Bookmarks for your favorite media in the Media Library. Use stars to quickly locate files for scheduling or checking their publish status.

Status

The current state of a scheduled post. Statuses include:

  • Draft: Media files with added descriptions but not yet scheduled. Drafts do not count toward your scheduling limit.

  • Scheduled: Posts with a set date and time for specific social channels. You can edit the time and description but cannot change the social channels.

  • Published: Posts that have been successfully shared to social channels. Once published, posts cannot be edited or deleted from Planly, though they remain visible in the Team calendar.

Post Schedule Limit

The maximum number of posts you can schedule per social channel within a billing period. This limit is based on the total of scheduled and published posts, not the media files uploaded.

Calendar

An interactive tool for scheduling posts by dragging and dropping media from your desktop or Media Library. The calendar displays scheduled, published, and draft posts. You can toggle between weekly and monthly views.
